Amber Ather, DMD, Named 2021 10 Under 10 Award Winner

Amber Ather, DMD, was named one of the 2021 10 Under 10 Award winners by the American Dental Association. He graduated from the School of Dentistry’s Advanced Education in Endodontics program in 2020 and completed his Master of Science in Dental Science in 2021.
Anibal R. Diogenes, DDS, MS, PhD, Receives Prestigious Osetek Educator Award

Anibal R. Diogenes, DDS, MS, PhD, was presented the prestigious Edward M. Osetek Educator Award by the American Association of Endodontists during its 2021 virtual annual meeting.
Ryushiro Sugita, DDS, MS, and Michael P. Vieth, DDS, MS, Named Orban Finalists

Ryushiro Sugita, DDS, MS, and Michael P. Vieth, DDS, MS, were named finalists in the 2021 Balint Orban Memorial Program by the American Academy of Periodontology. The Orban competition allows current and recent periodontal residents to present clinical and basic science research.

MSN Graduate Treats Patients with COVID at University Hospital

A year after joining University Hospital, Adriana Munoz, MSN, AGACNP, RN, and her hospital medicine team transitioned to caring for COVID-19 patients. Munoz, who is pursuing her PhD at the nursing school, is now performing COVID-related research.
ICU Nurse Finds Career Later in Life as Pandemic Strikes

Brenda Backlund-Pearson, BSN, RN, started her third career during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The recent graduate of the School of Nursing at UT Health San Antonio met the challenges of treating COVID patients in the ICU at Methodist Hospital.
