Periodontics Chair Presides Over World Symposium
David Cochran, D.D.S., Ph.D., M.S., professor and chair of periodontics, recently finished a four-year term as president of the International Team for Implantology.
In that leadership role, he presided over the ITI World Symposium in Basel, Switzerland, in May. More than 4,800 experts from around the world attended the symposium, the largest dental implant meeting in the world.
In the spring, Dr. Cochran received a Periodontal Regeneration Research Award from the International Association for Dental Research. In September, he was awarded the Gold Medal Award from the American Academy of Periodontology, which is the group’s highest award. The AAP also honored him with a Periodontal Regeneration Award.
