Taline "Talley" Dadian Infante, Ed.D., M.S., RDH, saw the oral health care needs of the homeless while volunteering. This visionary created a dental clinic for those who need it most. In her memory, students and faculty continue her legacy.

A Formidable Foe
Cara Gonzales, D.D.S., Ph.D., associate professor of comprehensive dentistry, is focusing her research on finding new ways to battle oral cancer, which has had no new effective therapies for more than 40 years.
The Domino Effect
A $2.4 million, four-year federal grant is allowing the dental school to enroll and retain students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and, by reducing their financial burden, helping them to possibly return to underserved areas to provide dental care.
A Lifelong Dedication
Birgit Junfin Glass, D.D.S., M.S., was one of the first female graduates of the dental school. She then spent the next 42 years at her alma mater dedicated to students, colleagues and academia.

Part-Time Professor Enjoying "Retirement"
Barry W. Holleron, D.D.S., has spent the last 24 years teaching junior and senior dental students. Now in his "retirement" from his private practice, he calls teaching three days a week fun and not a job.
