I have a deep personal and professional commitment to the Mays Cancer Center, home to UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center.

My mother-in-law died of breast cancer about 25 years ago, and she may have been alive today had we had the new breast cancer drugs that the Mays Cancer Center has helped develop over the last two decades.

In addition, I am a malignant hematologist with an active cancer research laboratory. My team has developed a new cancer drug for T-cell lymphoma that we will test right here at the Mays Cancer Center. Why did we choose the Mays for this trial? Because it has a long and illustrious history of cancer drug development: the first estrogen receptor test, the first liver perfusion chemotherapy, and the first prevention therapy for liver cancer were all developed right here!

Our cancer center not only offers the newest therapies for cancer, they invent the next generation of therapy!
