Each year, the School of Nursing recognizes and showcases outstanding PhD dissertations and final DNP projects completed by students enrolled in the research and practice-focused doctoral programs. Many doctoral students are advancing groundbreaking research and practice innovations that are worthy of recognition.

Recipients of the 2021 PhD and DNP Awards are: Darlene Deters, PhD Class of 2021, ARNP-BC, for her PhD dissertation, “Feasibility Study of Respiratory Function Home Monitoring for Patients with Myasthenia Gravis,” and Ashanta Mbonisi, DNP Class of 2021, RN, CCPN, for her DNP project, “Decreasing Wait Times: A Quality Improvement Project for a Rapid Vaccination Flu Clinic.”
