The Texas Nurses Association and Texas Nurses Foundation chose 20 outstanding nurses for The International Year of the Nurse for 2020 – 2021 including four from the School of Nursing. Karen Walker Schwab, PhD, APRN, CPNP-PC, PMHS, assistant professor/clinical, received this honor. Honorable mentions from the School of Nursing include Jennie Shaw, MSN, RN, CNE; Cheryl Farner, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, and Jane Kelly Smith, BSN, RN.
