DFW Graduates Enjoy Dinner, Informative Program

Engaging in Dallas

Dean Robert Hromas, M.D., FACP, interviewed David Genecov, M.D. Class of 1990, FACS, for the informative program after dinner.

On Oct. 5, 2019, Dean Robert Hromas, M.D., FACP, hosted an Alumni Dinner at III Forks Restaurant to connect with DFW Long School of Medicine alumni and share new updates from the school.

The dinner included a program featuring David Genecov, M.D. Class of 1990. Dr. Genecov discussed his experience as a medical student, practicing physician and entrepreneur and answered questions in a session moderated by Dean Hromas.

Dr. Genecov shared several pivotal moments that occurred because of his medical training at UT Health San Antonio, including when he met and married a fellow student, pediatrician Lisa Genecov, M.D. Class of 1989.

He also discussed his entrepreneurship efforts in supporting research which has led to an effective treatment for spinal muscular atrophy. These efforts have made a significant impact on those affected by this genetic disorder.

Since his arrival in February of 2018, Dean Hromas has prioritized connecting with Long School of Medicine Alumni. Dr. Hromas, echoing his alumni engagement mission, said, “You are all part of the Long School of Medicine family. I hope to see you here next year, and I would be thrilled if you bring friends who are fellow graduates.”

Dean Hromas has plans for additional regional events for alumni in Houston as well as a local event on the UT Health San Antonio campus.

Kevin Magee, M.D. Class of 1988, introduces himself to Dean Hromas and the fellow alumni.
