Professors Receive Regents’ Teaching Awards


Faculty Members Honored by UT System

Three distinguished faculty members who teach dental students were selected to receive the Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award from The University of Texas System.

Karen Troendle, D.D.S., M.P.H., professor of comprehensive dentistry and a Distinguished Teaching Professor, received the award in 2015. David P. Cappelli, D.M.D., M.P.H., Ph.D., professor of comprehensive dentistry, and Anne Cale Jones, D.D.S., professor of pathology who teaches in the dental clinics, both earned the award in 2016.

The regents’ awards recognize faculty members who deliver the highest quality of instruction in the classroom, laboratory, field and online. Recipients are vetted by their peer colleagues, students and university presidents before advancing to competition at the UT System level
