More than 4,800 experts from around the world attended the symposium, the largest dental implant meeting in the world.<\/p>\n<p>In the spring, Dr. Cochran received a Periodontal Regeneration Research Award from the International Association for Dental Research. In September, he was awarded the Gold Medal Award from the American Academy of Periodontology, which is the group\u2019s highest award.
