Creating a Clinic for People with Special Needs

Artist's rendition of Special Needs clinic

UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry will meet the needs of people with cognitive and physical disabilities in a beautiful new clinic at the Center for Oral Health Care & Research, designed especially for those with special needs.

This specialty practice will have five rooms for general dental care plus two fully functioning surgical operating rooms.

This unique clinic is the first of its kind in an academic environment in South Texas. While providing excellent oral health care to patients, the practice will offer interdisciplinary educational opportunities for students and residents.

Area dentists can refer patients with physical or cognitive impairments that make dental care in a traditional practice difficult to provide.

Opportunities are available to support the Special Needs Clinic, including its naming and gifts in kind of equipment and materials. For more information, please contact Amanda Liccione at 210-567-6536 or liccione@uthscsa.edu.
