Professor Earns Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award


Brian L. Mealey, D.D.S., M.S., professor of periodontics, was recognized by The University of Texas System with a 2017 Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award.

The award is the foremost teaching honor in the UT System and recognizes excellence of the highest degree, said University President William L. Henrich, M.D., MACP. The regents’ award is among the largest monetary awards in the nation for rewarding outstanding faculty performance. Recipients receive a $25,000 award.

Dr. Mealey is the graduate program director and the director of the Specialist Division in the Department of Periodontics.
