Biggs, the founding development board chairman of the Health Science Center, was the inspiration behind the university’s quest to develop a comprehensive care center for patients with Alzheimer’s and other neurodegenerative diseases, and their families. After his death in 2015, university officials announced they would name the institute in honor of Biggs.
