UT Health San Antonio offers Multiple Sclerosis Clinic

UT Health San Antonio, the clinical practice of the Long School of Medicine at the UT Health Science Center, announced good news for patients and families affected by multiple sclerosis (MS) — a new MS clinic at the Medical Arts & Research Center (MARC). The MARC is the clinical home of UT Health San Antonio primary care doctors and specialists who see patients in private practice.

MS is a central nervous system disorder and is thought to be an autoimmune disorder. Francisco González-Scarano, M.D., dean of the Long School of Medicine, professor of neurology and vice president for medical affairs, will staff the MS clinic from 1 to 5 p.m. two Tuesdays a month assisted by residents on neurology rotations. Dr. González is an MS specialist and has authored more than 160 original papers, chapters and reviews in the area of central nervous system inflammation and other topics. The clinic is on the fourth floor of the MARC at 8300 Floyd Curl Drive in neurology, area 4A.
