New Ph.D. in translational science offered

The UT Health Science Center, UT San Antonio (UTSA), UT Austin College of Pharmacy and UT School of Public Health (San Antonio Regional Campus), announced the establishment of a Ph.D. degree program in translational science. Michael Lichtenstein, M.D., M.Sc., said the program is propelled by a Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA). “The goal of the CTSA is to transform academic health centers so they will accelerate the pace and application of discovery, resulting in improved health for the public,” he said. Dr. Lichtenstein is professor of medicine and director of research education, training and career development for the Institute for Integration of Medicine and Science.
